I am too old to be drafted. But when I was younger we had to register for the draft.

I'm 63 this week. I'll go. Hell yeah. 63 years of pent up anger against humanity and heres a chance to vent some of that anger ... hell yeah, you couldnt stop me from partucipating in a war.

If that were the case, you would have enlisted long ago and you'd most likely feel very differently about killing on someone else's behalf.

Typical Liberal Brit....it is no wonder that America has had to bail you out of every war you have fought in the last 100 years. Cowards such as yourself refuse to fight and as a result you become enslaved.

I made a thread asking about those who have been in combat... Still none.

People here seem to think its like a video game.

I'd have a hard time killing someone even if my life were threatened.

It would be a war for our government, not for our country.

In my opinion, killing is the easy part... It's just reaction. It's the after thoughts or pulling a photo of their kids from their hands that they looked at as they bled out. It's the "knowing" that you and that man were really no different other than your allegiance to a cause. We're it other circumstances, you may have had casual conversation, helped him changed a flat tire, etc.

Pertaining to world war... There's no difference in country and government. Whether fighting for dirt or a flag, blood spilled over superficial means is just that... In my opinion.

They have sneakily made country and government equivalent when it is not. You're allowed to severely criticize your own government while still loving your country, though most people do not see it that way anymore by design.

I'd still have a hard time with the killing part because I've thought a lot about it. I get what you're saying though.

I dunno. I'm not willing to die for a governments profit or beliefs. Nor am I willing to die for a little dirt... There's plenty of it everywhere.

This country... Just represents a border that can't be crossed without paying homage. The only homage I pay is to nature herself as she is the only thing that provides for me in turn.

Muslims are no different than you or I outside of a cultural standpoint. Just regular people. The extremists you see are manufactured in my opinion.

True, but they are a very well used and easy pathway to the instigation of Shariah law. I don't fear Muslims, I fear Shariah. Hiding

I would go but considering the state of my health I would probably be sent back home.

If not, I would have a heart attack and die during boot camp.

Then fight government, as they are the basis for all law, religious and not.

Only if I was offered a staff officer position.
Anything colonel or above would work.
Plus pension benefits, obviously.
