A highway that is eternally undergoing construction.

Like probably 75%+ of the rest of the American highways. I think they turned them into a perpetual workplace.

"Fines are doubled in construction zones."

There ya go.

Lol... During my last road to to Atlanta from NY, I was leading a train of 4-6 other random cars, traveling at 100-130mph for almost 2 hours straight. Cars would exit, or drop out and others would join in as we passed them. We passed three cops and not one of them came after us.

That was a lot of fun and as a thank you to those lenient officers, I say let him have his warning ;)

10/10 would excessively speed again

One road trip a couple decades ago we found ourselves in group of random cars heading east from New Orleans to Florida and I had the speedometer maxed out at 110 even though I was pretty sure we were going much faster. This went on for several hours with no cops about. It was highly memorable and fun as hell, but it also drains fuel like hell. Also remember seeing flashing digital roadsigns that said, "arrive alive."

Much younger then and probably wouldn't do that sort of thing again. Maybe.chuckle

Quote:Interim Police Chief Brian Manley wasn’t aware of the incident until the Statesman inquired about it last week. He then ordered that McIlvain, who was driving in a 65-mph speed zone, be issued a ticket. The ticket is for $195.

I drive Mopac in Austin almost every day. I got a ticket about 1 mile north of this location 3 years ago. I was stopped for doing 4 mph over the limit (no shít - 4 friggin mph) and it cost me $175. This fukker goes 25 over and only gets dinged for $195?

Fukkin bureaucrat civil servant swine bastards, and fukkin court system too. The they wonder why people hate them all so much.

Austin, while its trying to become real big city, and is doing a decent job, is still riddled with backward corrupt local officials.... i mean the city gov, and all the .gov in this area are filled with "scratch my back first" kind of people...... its got a mix of that and old style Texas justice, which is basically "do what i say and i wont shoot or fire you"..... A lot of the business owners and .gov people are right from the ranch......they have a different way of approaching ...people/humanity..... they are so corrupt...and so servile;

Its trying to become an international big city type area like NYC......but its got a long long .........long way to go.

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

They are not made of a finer grade of clay; they are, in fact, a fully glazed trapway in the bottom of the toilet. Solid-human-waste (aka feces) does not stick most days.

Seems like a racket, they catch just enough criminals to make the public think they're working on it.
