Better word would be parasites that take advantage of hospitality of gentle folk. Stop using soft words. Codependent puts a person in the picture, parasite is something that needs to be destroyed. The thread is about a situation and an effect that is coming.
"Why peaceful altruistic people have to live near people that want to abuse them."
No One Has to Live Near People That want to abuse them, Unless they make the decision
to willingly live there. Hence the term Co Dependant!

well I could I suppose divorce the wife, abandon the kid, and go live elsewhere, of course this might also mean getting a job at the only gas station combo food mart and restaurant in a 100 mile radius with a for hire sign out.

all of the above because I tried giving a homeless person a sammich, and the local busy bodies decided this was akin to feeding a bear in some wild animal park. never mind the person being fed was cold, tired and hungry. but yes I can see your point --- helping others out is truly a bad thing, and I should immediately banish myself from the neighborhood I'm currently living in. Should this proper self-loathing punishment be insufficient and should I get the urge to ever help another person out again, what would you suggest... perhaps step onto the tracks of an oncoming train?

Seems like some exist to lift up others only to get pulled down and shitte on

You have it backwards, the demons (narcissists are demonized; some fallen) go around those less demonized to feed off of them because they're PARASITES.
