Astronomy/Telescope Oort Cloud Question
Advertisement
Check out the diagram of the suspected Oort Cloud , which allegedly contains billions of comets surrounding our solar system 2,000 AU out and further .

Wouldn't these objects be constantly in the way of observing light of distant stars ?

The Kepler telescope measures light dips as planets cross the disk of their parent stars .. how are Oort Cloud objects not detected or a menace to telescopes ???

RE: Astronomy/Telescope Oort Cloud Question
light bends around objects, plasma allows for free travel of energy/light.in any direction.so space must be 50%+ ionized.
thus this is how we see through it.

i understand light would still reach us. Like if I had a bunch of small golf balls hanging everywhere in a room from the ceiling (Oort Cloud) and had a flashlight at one end of the room (distant star) and me on the other side of the room, observer , earth/telescope .. I would see the light through the objects as they are spaced out .. but the light that gets blocked out should be measurable and thus prove the Oort clouds existence yet it doesn't .

So you didn't really answer my question

RE: Astronomy/Telescope Oort Cloud Question
If there really are billions of Oort Cloud comets they should be observed dipping the light of stars very eradically in both speed and direction of transit.

Now if I were told that's why the stars twinkle at night, rationally I could understand that , but it's worth mentioning that's not what I believe

theres no light blocked,it bends around.the cloud should dissipate, whats holding the charge in place is the question.magnetism,so the cloud is full of iron dust?cobalt?
nuke the cloud!

If that were true, the entire premise of the Kepler telescope wouldn't work .

so when the moon passes between us and the sun, there's no light blocked ???

Come on .. use your brain.
