So, is it too late for the cross the four atheists objected to in Florida? Is it too late for Civil War statues to go back up? Revisionist hate.

what the hell are you even talking about?

topic too difficult or too triggering?

Confederate monument in Tampa will stay put

(CNN)Chloe Coney remembers what it was like to be one of the first black students to attend Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida, in the 1960s.
The 66-year-old remembers classmates calling her insulting names including the n-word. She remembers fearing for her safety at a pep rally as students waved the Confederate Flag and sang "I Wish I Was in Dixie."
She shared those memories with Hillsborough County commissioners Wednesday as she implored them to remove a statue of a Confederate soldier from in front of a Tampa courthouse.
---
Instead, after nearly three hours of contentious debate, they voted to add a mural behind the monument to showcase what one member called "the love and diversity" in the community.

"If we don't look for a compromise or consensus, there's going to be hatred and anger that could last for decades," Commissioner Victor Crist said.

*I personally feel that since the confederacy was an enemy who declared war on the United states, there should not be statues and other displays that honor them.

I agree if the monuments are on public grounds, built with public funds, etc.

But on private land they could have statues of hitler for all I care

Well, those "Georgia Guidestones" are on private property and paid for with private funds, but lots of people I read say they should be blown up because of how their views are interpreted....

FABA United States . Criminal Racketeers the lot . Ignoring the Foundational agreements in the name of Necessity , now ongoing State of Emergency . On and on and on since before We were even born . Perpetual crap .

Confederacy wasn't the Enemy in that conflict . This Country was established as a Confederation , and it did not fail . The Articles of Confederation are the Law the Constitution was intended to uphold in a General Government , to present that perpetual union of Confederated States to the World at large .

Local Custom was intended to be recognized as LAW by the organized Government at all levels . If Tradition dictates Honoring Memory , by Head Stone or by Public Statue , it should be respected by inhabitants and Governance alike .

Here's a little Pre " Civil War " history few seem to be aware of : http://thelastoutpost.com/

> Since early on in the 1900s people were told they were receiving “Equality” but never told equal to what. The 14th Amendment Freehold was supposed to be “Equal” to the Preamble Freehold and so it was for approximately 30-40 years. People forgot the civil war, they forgot the 11 southern states that were denied their equal footing and thrown out of the legislature. The United states of America was overthrown in 1868 and a new form of government put in its place. No one ever noticed because they had forgotten that the founding fathers fought for Inherent Rights not taxation without representation. <

gmorning RE: Supreme Court: There is no ‘hate speech"
Interesting GL . Will be fun to observe this turn of events churn for a while .

Was a fellow in Venice Beach once . Sold Political Tees on the Boardwalk .

City got on Him for not holding and displaying Vendors Permit . State for not having a Sales Permit and collecting Sales Tax . The Fellow stuck to His Guns and the Case ended up in Calif Supreme Court , which ruled in favor of the Defendant .

Political speech and attendant accouterments were considered Free Speech and not subject to Regulation by the City or the State Franchise Tax Board .

I was pleasantly surprised by that Ruling .

IF all you are saying about the civil war, our constitution and the confederacy not being the enemy, is true, THEN the confederacy essentially ruined our government by starting the civil war, right?

Because I'm getting from what you've written, that IF there had been no civil war, THEN our country would still be a confederacy today, the Articles of Confederation would still be the LAW, and America would still be presenting the perpetual union of Confederated States to the World at large.

Or have I hopelessly misunderstood this?

IF all you are saying about the civil war, our constitution and the confederacy not being the enemy, is true, THEN the confederacy essentially ruined our government by starting the civil war, right?

The Confederation of Southern States can not be proven to have fired the First Shot at Fort Sumter , Charleston Harbor , South Carolina , first to secede December 20, 1860 .

This action resulted from failure of Union Forces to withdraw from South Carolina , surrendering the Fort , as demanded by the seceding State . The Fort had been under siege and a supply boat turned away by Confederate / South Carolina Arms .

Confederate Gen. Pierre G.T. Beauregard, commander of the Confederate forces and Maj. Robert Anderson, the Sumter garrison commander were in negotiations to resolve the issues peacefully , which failed .

Beauregard felt compelled to act and did so of His Own Authority as a So. Carolina Officer , not at the direction of the Southern Congress or any Superior Officer .

There is also a Masonic back channel element to this story .

Because I'm getting from what you've written, that IF there had been no civil war, THEN our country would still be a confederacy today, the Articles of Confederation would still be the LAW, and America would still be presenting the perpetual union of Confederated States to the World at large.

The Articles of Perpetual Confederation ARE still Law . They established Sovereignty of the States among other important aspects of this American Form of self Governance . If the Articles were properly superseded the Definition of being a State would disappear with them . Articles provide the Basis or Nexus in American Law . Without them , there is no United States .

Just imagine what a hodge podge would occur had the (E)States remained separate entities for purposes of International Trade and Diplomatic Relations .

The Constitution was intended to form a Central Government in Trust , for the States to interact with established Nations . To provide a Unified Face . Kind of like the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations . AFL–CIO is the largest federation of divergent labor organizations in the U.S of A . It represents the general Interests of Laboring Men and Women , to Government Authorities . Lots of Pro Labor Regulations have been affected over the years . And They get to line Their Own pockets with power and pay along the way . Great Racket that one .

Or have I hopelessly misunderstood this?

Not hopelessly at all . This legal history is simply not taught outside of Government Circles since the State Education Prerogatives were invaded by the Dept. of Education . This information can be turned up in various Desk Top Encyclopedias from a Century ago . I was fortunate to have stumbled on two such at a used book store . Spent $10 for both . Published shortly after the so called " Civil War " ' each from the Union or Confederate point of view . Cross referencing subjects proved most enlightening .

Be Well
