State Police investigate helicopter crash
UPDATE: On October 30, 2018, at approximately 4:16 p.m., Clinton County Dispatch received a report of a helicopter crash in a field adjacent to Burke Road in the town of Beekmantown. Local EMS, fire departments, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and New York State Police responded. Upon arrival, a helicopter was observed to be burning while partially suspended from the power lines. The four occupants were transported to the University of Vermont Health Network at Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital where one of the pilots, Robert T. Hoban Jr., 56 of Shamang, New Jersey, and a passenger, Jeremy P. Kearns, 30, of Massena, NY were pronounced deceased. Two additional occupants, Benjamin L. McAllister, 30, of Hopkinton, NY, and Scott E. Fabia, 34, of Hyde Park, NY, were kept at the hospital for further observation.
