That "fidget spinner guy" was a lady.

She approached Hasbro and they rejected her. Now that her patent has expired, Hasbro sells fidget spinners but they don't pay her any royalties.

Really sad situation.

So long, LOP! And thanks for all the fish. $200 reward offered! http://lunaticoutpost.com/thread-788432.html

Get a patent lawyer, form a business/business plan and seek out investors.

It doesn't work that way. Many years ago, a car running on pure water was invented. Have you heard about it? The electric car was invented more than 100 years ago. When did you first hear about it?

The guy who invented the shopping cart hired actors to push them through the stores until it caught on. Proctor and Gamble sold soap out of a wheel barrow in the depression...i know there is a way, I just have not found it yet.S977

Get a patent lawyer, form a business/business plan and seek out investors.

Form a business/business plan and seek out investors, then get a patent lawyer, because they're far from free.

The guy has no money, remember!

Neither did I and that is what I did.

Honestly, if you come up with something worth while, you need to come up with the money ..

A simple patent search is probably the first thing to do. That is $300 to $500. That will take a little while.

If the patent search comes up clean, now you have something to encourage a potential early investor (friends, family or fools).

Which can fund the few thousand needed to patent the invention.

Starting a business is cheap and easy.

Once you have a patent and a business, you can seek out BIG TIME investors that will take it to the next level. OR, sell that patent to a company suited to utilize the invention.

You can't invent something and watch it grow for nothing. 2 grand is NOTHING compared to the millions for a great idea.

Or you could simply complain about not having enough and watch it all fall apart.

It's how it is.

You want the truth or a bunch of BS?

With out a patent, someone will steal it, guaranteed.

This is what I worry about as well.

Definitely, I kept lips sealed for over a year before I had the means to patent my idea.

I still can't talk too much about it yet.

If anyone can help advise how to patent a billion dollar idea, its me. I'm going through such a process atm.

Once I got a clean patent search result ($500), that was enough to get a relative to help fund the rest and garnish interest among a few tech savy people in my area.

Some patent lawyers will accept payments IF they believe strongly in your invention. Fortunately, I did not have to go that tight.

My advise for OP....

Patent Search, $500. If it was already invented, you only loose 500. If not, that result will be able to show others your idea is truly unique. And possibly make money.

My idea is about to hit a market worth roughly $200 billion a year.

I know, HOLY f*#k, but I am long past the shock part. Now patiently waiting for things to happen along the way.

How about a Star Wars virtual reality head set app that makes the bugs look like those crazy screeching Darth vader fighters....But you get an electric zapper that fires shots at them like those electric tennis raquets....But in the Virtual reality world you are han Solo in the millenium falcon pumping a lazer cannon into those nasty rotten Flies and Mozzies...

Needs a bit of work from boffins with VR programming and sensor systems but im sure its do-able...

Hang in there . Where there's a Will there's a Way , as the old saw goes .

This stuff started by being cooked in a 55 gallon drum on the streets . Compton was it ?

Boy HOWDY that sauce was HOT and then some .

When the earliest bottled came out , I left a small one in the fridge where I was working , just for the Mexicans to try when hot sauce was asked for .

Got a lot of Luls out of that . Bottle lasted a long time . Nobody tried more than once . Was always there for Me when I was passing through to work or just say HI .
