Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday voiced concerns about President Trump's comments on NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem to protest racial injustice, saying Trump should not have the power to dictate who can kneel during the anthem.

"There’s a part of this story that’s starting to make me nervous, and it’s this: I am very uncomfortable with the president of the United States being able to dictate the behavior and power of anybody. That’s not where this should be coming from," Limbaugh said on his show.

Limbaugh said he believed Trump's motives were "pure," but he argued that the president's actions were unhelpful in the broader debate on players kneeling.

"Trump is continually tweeting — I know what he’s doing, and I understand why he’s doing it, and his motives are pure; don’t misunderstand. But I don’t think that it is useful or helpful for any employee anywhere to be forced to do something because the government says they must," he continued.

RE: Limbaugh: Trump's comments on NFL 'starting to make me nervous'
The NFL is one of the most American sports there is. If the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE cannot stand and respect the national anthem of the country they can f*#k off.
Take away all the tax breaks they get & treat them like any other private industry. That also means they no longer get exclusive rights to broadcasting and all the other special things they get.

You don't want to represent the country and hate police. f*#k em pull every cop from the stands let them police their own sh*t. Every black player on the team hates America because some black drug dealer gets shot but has no problem when a black drug dealer kills a bunch of people they can change their name to something else because that sure as hell doesn't represent America or the nation so why not.

RE: Limbaugh: Trump's comments on NFL 'starting to make me nervous'
Limbaugh doesn't get it. Even if Trump tried to convince his supporters to watch football again, a large percentage would not. Just like the election for session's seat. Trump may be the main voice behind the "America First" movement but he's not the movement.

Here's the issue. The majority of Americans don't hate our country and we know that flag represents us. It's personal. It's not just about the military and flag draped coffins.

Karl rove was adamant Trump would lose on the NFL issue. Once again, rove was proven wrong. Now maybe, trump will let the issue go. He's already made his point. But if not, Limbaugh is about to be schooled. He doesn't control the America first segment of society. No one does but the people themselves. That's what makes it so powerful.

And right now these people are discovering the power of their wallets. It's far greater than the establishment of the left or right because it's highly motivated.

I would agree with Limbaugh on this. Trump should just suggest people not watch unpatriotic, rich, entitled snobs play football. The NFL is just a money whore who have lost control of their dancing puppets.

Football is like church. Trump should stay out of it.

Or like church, people who don't go should stay out of it. I've seen more non-football fans, who wouldn't be able to name one legend, have more of an opinion lately than is sane, frankly.

Truth is, Kaepernic sucks as a player and the guy they let go so he could be signed up was miles better.

And Trump damned well knows all this current SJW bullshit is because of him; if Hillary had won there'd be none of it.

RE: Limbaugh: Trump's comments on NFL 'starting to make me nervous'
I've lost interest in the issue because I've drastically cut my football watching.

However, the league didn't require players to be on the field for the Anthem prior to 2009.

The league could simply keep the players in the tunnel and that is that.

If they want to protest in the tunnel they can protest in the tunnel. The league is under no obligation to give them a forum to disrespect America.

While DOD has funded some patriotic displays there isn't evidence they paid for the players to stand.

While Trump wading into this is debatable from several angles, the disrespect of anthem protests do disgust loyal Americans (I know I am disgusted with it). Trump is just voicing the opinion of his base.

The reason that Trump has to voice the opinion of his base, is the MSM ruthlessly suppresses non-progressive viewpoints. The president of the United States is the one person they can't shut up.

I'm starting to warm up to Trump and twitter. He has brilliantly exposed the bias of the media and the fact that many Republican congressman are too chicken to speak up for their constituents.

Blimpbaugh's garbage is failing these days almost as bad as the NFL is. He probably thinks this will spur Trump tweets that will win fatso some new fans.

Fans of this turd are the stupidest variety of humans.

Bread and circuses...

They are Constitutionally guaranteed their right to freedom of speech and expression.

I do not have to agree with what they have to say in order to support their right to say it.

That freedom stuff is a wonderful thing...it works for everyone whether you like them or not.
