Just remember self delusion is not a factor of intelligence. There are intelligent people out there just as deluded as the idiots they oppress.

With family I do. They are good people, and I don't wish to hurt or unsettle them.

They recognize that I do hold back.....they tell me intelligence is my gift and my curse.....I have learned to not "think so much" from them.....that's wisdom-over-intelligence.

Meaning have you ever found yourself "dumbing down" in any situation?

I live with Canadians. The more intelligent you are the more they try to control and dominate you. If you challenge their slopes head desire for dominion over others they get aggressive and attack you.

RE: Genuine question: do you ever hold back your intelligence?
My brain is a fried egg. I'm stressed at work and then when I get home I love strategy games. By the time I go to bed I'm dead tired, in a daze, and it's hard to think.

I wish my brain had more to work with. You don't get smarter by thinking a lot. If that were the case I would be a genius and I'm not. You're born with a certain capacity and you can't reach beyond that.

At work I tell people my brain is full and I can't learn anything anymore. That's maybe not the case but I'm done with college and training courses. I've reached the point where I just want to 9 to 5 until I croak.

They are playing a sycophantic routine with you. You are basically nothing and spent your life as their bit*h. They truly believe they have superiority over you and so are playing the role of caring guardian. they flatter you in hopes of encouraging you while trying to maintain friendly relations. When you feel flattered you like them more

I've done it before. Usually with the very elderly. They're known for having wisdom, so out of respect I stand back and keep quiet and encourage them to talk.

I always end up learning something. It proves my dad was right when he said "you never learn anything from talking".

Actually I thought I was done for good, I had asked for a password reset from D, but he forgot until I came up in a discussion.

So I'm back :)
