MX Linux Windows alternative

Someone asked a while back, about Linux alternatives for Windows, and someone just sent me this link, so I thought to post it here in case the person who asked might still be around, in case for them, this might turn out to be a solution:

https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/mx-linux-w...ternative/

"If you’re looking for a Windows alternative but have shied away from Linux, MX Linux may be the solution you’ve been waiting for.

Linux distributions have always held promise for Windows users to migrate away from an expensive OS. Even Windows 10 has enough quirks and issues that a truly robust and functional Linux alternative could easily entice longtime Windows users to switch.

Let’s take a closer look at MX Linux from the perspective of a longtime Windows user."

RE: MX Linux Windows alternative
I got an old netbook from work that they were going to send to the recycler. I want to install a linux distro on it that runs in ramdrive since that would run a lot quicker and smoother on it's cruddy hardware.

I was trying to install puppy linux last night and it would boot fine from live CD but after doing an install and restart it would crash at bootup. It showed a bunch of critical errors, one of them being for the detected web cam. It doesn't surprise me because every linux distro I've ever tried has had driver issues. Something I have is guaranteed to not be compatible.

Right now I'm looking around at other distros. I might try antiX next.

Try Lubuntu. It works fine on my AAO netbook.

RE: MX Linux Windows alternative
Yet another linux distro....

The biggest problem with linux..is linux. Too many distros doing the same thing with the empty promise of being stable and easy to use.

The end user simply isn't ready for command line installs.
