I prefer a car WITHOUT an airbag, I will take my chances instead of risking a broken NECK if it deploys late.

Not if it deploys late! No one can predict when it deploys. It depends on the angle of the accident!

What do you mean ? If the sensor senses a front end collision, it WILL deploy the airbags . That happens in a nano second, they are fully inflated while your face is still traveling forward . If the "angle of collision" is is not straight on, they will not deploy at all . Side airbags are on a different inertia sensor, they only deploy when the vehicle is struck side on .
The body control module takes care of all this, thousands of hours of crash testing goes into this tech, it is pretty darn reliable .
