Trump's lips remained still today as Obama and Clinton recited the Apostles Creed

From the moment he crossed the transept of the soaring Washington National Cathedral, tore off his overcoat and took his seat in the front pew, President Trump was an outsider.

When the others sang an opening hymn, his mouth did not move. When the others read the Apostles’ Creed, he stood stoically. And when one eulogist after another testified to George H.W. Bush’s integrity and character and honesty and bravery and compassion, Trump sat and listened, often with his lips pursed and his arms crossed over his chest.

They weren't talking about him, so he wasn't interested.

Kind of presumptuous to assume one must know the Apostle's Creed to believe in God.

You would be surprised how many people claim to be Christian, and can't recite the Apostles Creed, Lord's Prayer, or the 10 Commandments. As for the other politicians reciting the creed - so what? I can memorize the lyrics to songs. Doesn't mean they believe what they are repeating like a parrot.

You're not seeing what's going on here. Nothing to do with him being an atheist or not.

I think attending the service was the last place President Trump wanted to be. He simply wouldn't play the part of a hypocrite, so he stayed silent. Why would he take part in anything Christian in attendance with Obama and Clinton? Ugh

He stood Presidential, looking more and more like OUR President should look. Stoic.

President Trump is still in play, what he will do in the end remains to be seen. I can see agreeing or disagreeing on policy by policy things, still so many have been bleating hate for Trump since he was on the campaign trail. They preferred Hillary, or Bernie, neither of which would have done any better, imo. I believe we'd be at war with Russia and Iran had Hillary been elected. That's the direction she was talking.

It's NOT just a Catholic Creed.

The 'basic creed' of Reformed churches and Protestant churches
is the Apostles' Creed.

"Know"?

I was written on the sheet of paper he was holding.
