I take a philosophical view, and this time I'm not blaming the U.S., change of pace. What first becomes clear to the senses about this country, and Peter Zeihan tells it very well in his book "The Accidental Superpower" (the subject is not of such relevance to him as to merit mention in a Youtube video, sorry), is the place's impossible geography. As I remember the argument, the many mountains divide the country into many small natural fiefdoms, and whoever can make themselves the king of one of them will decide the law in there, the central government being ensconced in the largest of such valleys, and a law teacher once having told me, "The reason the City is so big is so no one becomes the local king of the hill, anywhere else the local bosses take over, and then you'd be under their heel". Such small elites, then, cooperate just enough as befits their obscene profits and their thirst for regional domination. Poke a Mexican, any one, even the white ones, and you will find a malevolent ogre, squatting possessively on a tiny strip of stolen or defended land, and daring anybody to take away his candy. Me, I've just tried to keep my profile low, be little threat to the bigger opponents, and yes, it's a miserable existence. This goes back to what I said elsewhere about the basement-dweller's power. We can go either way, and civil wars, revolutions, takeovers, hey, we've had more than a few.

Because you deserve it
Your "philosophical" view is full of holes
You will never taste the goods of this amazing country....magic, cosmic place, full of mysteries, color, history, traditions, incedible food from Los Cabos to Cancun
I feel sorry for you
As the poet said once...."you can change the city, the town....but it is always the same tow....inside you

So he instituted changes to keep fuel from being stolen and the new system "cant" deliver fuel fast enough to meet demand.

A couple of things he didn't see coming.

1. A convoy of trucks can not match the delivery rate of a pipeline.
2. The people stealing fuel out of the pipelines were doing it by BRIBING PEMEX employees, those same employees have a vested interest in seeing the truck delivery system fail.....They are going to do everything in their power to slow down delivery.

I live there. Wizard country and suffers mightily from it, government is depthlessly corrupt, violent, stagnant economy. Food is good, though.

Ongoing report:

The shortages have reached Mexico City. Cars are still on the road, but there are long lines at every gas station, with people queuing for hours and a common question among friends-who-could-help-you-out being Do you still have a car? Food deliveries continue, public transport is still happening, but everybody who needed to drive themselves is furious. The satanic dwarf of Macuspana mumbles that he apologizes, didn't know people needed to work, he himself just sucks the blood of the innocent. Tempers rising. Everyone must come up with something, fast.

Here you have it, folks. It's even made it into the English-language media.

Mexico Reduces U.S. Gasoline Imports
https://www.wsj.com/articles/mexico-redu...1547249440

The country is being intentionally run into the ground. And it could happen to you with just the turn of a key.. consider simply that, turning off the gas. Few days after that, food goes bad. Later, Oops, Russian hack in the power stations! This is how Mao's famines started. Keep watch.

Consider, also, the current 'No boycotting Israel' bill. Dictatorships need guilty parties, and when there aren't any, they are invented.
