Completely uninstall Java and flash..Use Adobes uninstallers..then reinstall. Many times this is the only way to fix it. Updating does nothing. sometimes just reinstalling Java work. Sometimes uninstalling Flash work.Sometimes you have to do both.

Flash uninstaller

Java uninstall

Actually if you use another browser than the one your having problems with you will probably get video, Try IE, Firefox, Chrome or Opera I bet one of them will work for ya. Then clean your browser cash and update flash. Then you'll have to reboot even though flash or cleaning ur cash doesn't normally require it. I would get CCleaner, it's light weight and werks guuud.

yup!!
i fired up explorer and vid works
i use firefox for my browser all the time
so what does this mean?
oh!
just before explorer opened the malware alarmed and said it detected a malicious program trying to start and i quarantined it

I would right click on a video that will not play while using Firefox and select settings and remove the check mark for :Enable Hardware Acceleration. If that doesn't work upgrade to the latest Firefox version, if you have the latest version, if that doesn't work downgrade to the last version.

If none of that works you could downgrade to the last version of flash,

sometimes FF extensions can cause this problem, you could disable them all and then turn them on one at a time to find the culprit.

Disable the RealPlayer Browser Record extension in Firefox

Ad Block Plus can also cause this problem if your using it.

Here is some other fixes

have you tried using porn solvent? Sometimes when you watch too much porn it gums up the video card.
